About SonoScape

Global Innovation. Focused on Endoscopy. Built for North American Healthcare.

SonoScape Medical Corporation was founded in 2002 with a commitment to developing innovative and accessible medical imaging technologies. What began in diagnostic ultrasound has grown into a global medical technology organization with products and services reaching more than 170 countries and regions. Today, SonoScape employs more than 3,000 people worldwide, including more than 800 research and development professionals working across seven global R&D centers in Shenzhen, Shanghai, Wuhan, Tuttlingen, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Seattle. Approximately 20% of company revenue is reinvested into research and development, reflecting an organization built around continued advancement in medical imaging.

Endoscopy became an important part of that mission as SonoScape expanded beyond ultrasound and established its endoscopy product line in 2013. The company introduced the HD-500 electronic endoscopy system in 2016 and continued building its capabilities in flexible endoscopy, advanced visualization, and endoscopic ultrasound. In 2019, SonoScape debuted its EUS technology, becoming the first Chinese manufacturer to master the core technologies required for endoscopic ultrasound.

That combination of ultrasound and flexible endoscopy expertise has become one of the defining characteristics of SonoScape. Rather than approaching endoscopy as an isolated product category, the company has developed technologies spanning conventional GI visualization, advanced image enhancement, endoscopic ultrasound, therapeutic endoscopy, and the supporting technologies required throughout the procedure room.

A New Chapter for Endoscopy in North America

SonoScape’s presence in North America is not new. The company established its ultrasound operations in the market well before the introduction of its human GI endoscopy platform, and two of SonoScape’s seven global research and development centers are located in the United States, in San Francisco and Seattle.

The next chapter began when the SonoScape HD-550 Video Endoscopy System received FDA 510(k) clearance in 2022 for gastrointestinal endoscopy. At the time of its U.S. introduction, the HD-550 had already been deployed in nearly 40 countries, providing SonoScape with an established international clinical foundation before entering the U.S. GI endoscopy market.

SonoScape Endoscopy North America builds upon that global foundation with an organization dedicated specifically to the needs of healthcare providers throughout the United States and Canada. Our objective is larger than introducing another endoscopy system into an established market. We believe healthcare providers deserve greater choice in how they acquire, operate, maintain, and ultimately replace their endoscopy technology.

That means competing not only on image quality and clinical capability, but also on accessibility, lifecycle economics, service, connectivity, workflow, and total cost of ownership.

Rethinking the Economics of Endoscopy

For decades, acquiring flexible endoscopy technology has typically required healthcare organizations to accept a significant initial capital investment followed by an equally significant lifecycle commitment. Equipment acquisition is only the beginning. Service contracts, scope repairs, software licensing, servers, image storage, reporting systems, upgrades, and eventual equipment replacement all contribute to the true cost of maintaining an endoscopy program.

SonoScape Endoscopy North America is taking a different approach. Our goal is to provide hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and gastroenterology practices with greater flexibility in how they access and manage endoscopy technology. From traditional capital acquisition and lease-purchase programs to alternative models structured around procedural utilization, we believe the economics of endoscopy should adapt to the needs of the healthcare organization rather than forcing every facility into the same ownership model.

For high-volume facilities, particularly ambulatory surgery centers, the economics become even more important. The true financial measurement of an endoscopy platform is not simply its purchase price. It is the cost of delivering each procedure over the useful life of the equipment. Acquisition cost, repairs, service, downtime, software, infrastructure, reprocessing, and technology replacement all ultimately contribute to that number.

Our goal is straightforward: make advanced endoscopy technology more accessible while creating a more predictable and sustainable cost of ownership.

More Than an Endoscopy Tower

At the center of the current U.S. portfolio is the HD-550 Endoscopy Platform, combining Full HD visualization with SonoScape’s VIST™ and SFI image-enhancement technologies. The platform supports compatible 550 Series gastroscopes and colonoscopes while providing the imaging foundation for screening, diagnostic, surveillance, and therapeutic gastrointestinal endoscopy.

But we believe the future of endoscopy extends well beyond the processor and scope. SonoScape Endoscopy North America is being developed around the complete procedural environment, bringing together visualization, endoscopes, peripheral equipment, image and video management, clinical reporting, interoperability, service, support, and lifecycle management.

This connected approach extends into digital workflow through JADE by SonoScape, creating an environment designed to bring endoscopic imaging and reporting together with cloud-based archiving, PACS and DICOM interoperability, EMR integration, multi-modality image management, and secure access to procedural images and video.

The result is a different way of thinking about an endoscopy platform. Instead of viewing the processor and endoscope as isolated pieces of capital equipment, we see them as part of a connected clinical ecosystem extending from the procedure room to the patient record and throughout the healthcare enterprise.

Innovation Backed by Global Research and Development

SonoScape’s growth has been driven by sustained investment in independent research and development. More than 800 R&D professionals work across its global research network, and approximately 20% of company revenue is reinvested into research and development. The company’s development centers span Asia, Europe, and the United States, allowing engineering expertise, clinical requirements, and market-specific needs to contribute to continued product development.

That investment has produced a series of milestones across medical imaging. SonoScape expanded into endoscopy in 2013, introduced the HD-500 in 2016, debuted its EUS platform in 2019, and secured U.S. FDA clearance for the HD-550 in 2022. In 2025, SonoScape announced iEndo, its next-generation smart endoscopy platform, continuing the company’s investment in the future of gastrointestinal imaging.

SonoScape is also a publicly traded medical technology company, having listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in April 2017. The combination of global scale, significant engineering resources, and sustained investment in R&D provides the foundation for SonoScape’s continued expansion in medical imaging and endoscopy.

Local Commitment. Global Resources.

Technology alone does not build a successful endoscopy program. North American healthcare providers require clinical education, implementation support, responsive technical service, equipment availability, integration assistance, and a commercial organization that understands the realities of operating hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician practices.

SonoScape Endoscopy North America exists to provide that local connection to SonoScape’s global capabilities. We are building the North American endoscopy organization around long-term relationships with healthcare providers rather than simply equipment transactions. That means supporting customers from initial system evaluation and demonstration through implementation, training, clinical use, service, repair, technology refresh, and future expansion.

Behind that local commitment is the scale of a global medical technology manufacturer serving more than 170 countries and regions, supported by thousands of employees and an international research, development, manufacturing, and clinical infrastructure.

A Different Choice in Endoscopy

The North American endoscopy market has historically been concentrated among a small number of manufacturers. We believe meaningful competition, greater choice, and new approaches to equipment ownership ultimately benefit healthcare providers and the patients they serve.

SonoScape brings a different combination to this market: global manufacturing scale, substantial investment in research and development, established expertise in both ultrasound and endoscopy, advanced imaging technology, and an economic philosophy focused on making that technology more accessible.

Our mission in North America is to deliver advanced endoscopy technology without requiring healthcare providers to accept the traditional cost structure associated with endoscopy ownership. That means greater flexibility in acquisition, connected clinical workflows, responsive service and support, and a more sustainable approach to managing technology throughout its lifecycle.

Because the future of endoscopy should not simply produce a better image.

It should create a better way to deliver care.
